Gracie Barra at the Jelgava Open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship!

On April 12, 2025, the city of Jelgava will host the open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu championship “Jelgava Open,” taking place at the sports center located at Mātera iela 44A. This event promises to be a true celebration of martial arts, bringing together some of the strongest athletes from all over Latvia and beyond.

More than 50 representatives from the Gracie Barra school will take part in the championship, competing across various age and weight categories. Our team will be represented by a truly vibrant and diverse community of fighters — the youngest participant is only 6 years old, and the oldest is 45. This once again proves that Jiu-Jitsu has no age limits and remains accessible to anyone willing to learn, grow, and succeed.

For many of our young fighters, this will be their first competition experience, while the more seasoned athletes are ready to showcase a high level of technique, strategy, and the Gracie Barra spirit. We are proud of each and every one of them and look forward to this exciting event!
